Martin Dixon's Epsom Derby Best Bet

I was really impressed with ITEM in the Dante. He went into the race relatively cold in the market, but it was a massive improvement on his juvenile form. His striding data, the way that he won, his sectional times… all of it suggests he’s not going to have any trouble whatsoever with a mile and half and in fact, he should improve.The only concern I have is whether the ground gets too testing for him, but he should be fine on good to soft ground. He’s at the top of my list – I think the Dante form is very strong. He beat a good horse in Action into second. I was very impressed with that Dante performance on only his 3rd career start and I think there will be more improvement in the Derby on Saturday.
