Lydia Hislop was crowned Broadcaster of the Year for the third time in five years at the 57th annual Horserace Writers' & Photographers' Association Derby Awards in London on Monday.
Hislop was first crowned Broadcaster of the Year in 2019 and then again in 2021. Hislop is a regular presenter on Racing TV and hosts the popular *Road To Cheltenham* show with Ruby Walsh, plus also writes the *Road To Cheltenham* column on racingtv.com.
While Hislop is best known for her presenting and writing skills, she also provides media training for aspiring jockeys at the British Racing School.
She saw off competition from Kevin Blake, Ed Chamberlin, Adele Mulrennan and Nick Luck, who had won the Peter O’Sullevan Trophy for two of the past five renewals.
It means that Racing TV presenters have won the award for five years running.
Luck was successful in the Reporter of the Year (John Oaksey Trophy) category for the second year running thanks to his work on the hugely popular Nick Luck Daily podcast, while Racing TV and ITV presenter Megan Nicholls dead-heated with racecourse commentator Alex Fussey in the Emerging Talent award (the Alan Lee Trophy).
