La Estrella pencilled in for Southwell in attempt to equal all-weather record

Don Cantillon is hoping to run La Estrella at Southwell on Wednesday after transport issues forced him to abort plans for his scheduled outing there on Thursday afternoon.The 14-year-old was due to run in the Betway Selling Stakes in a bid to claim his 28th win on the all-weather and equal the record held by Stand Guard.However, Cantillon had to return to Newmarket after problems with his vehicle. The mile-and-a-half contest was won easily by 4-9 favourite Luv U Whatever.Cantillon will now look to run La Estrella in the Bet On the Festival With Betway Handicap over a mile and three-quarters."The winner would have taken a bit of catching, but that's by the way," said Cantillon."There was an accident on the motorway, but that didn't affect me. We virtually broke down and have hobbled back. We got halfway and decided to go back."The old boy is in again on Wednesday at Southwell in a handicap."We had a horse with us that was going to have a gallop at Southwell and he got a bit upset, but I put some hay up for both of them and they had a chomp away. It's a sore point, though, not being able to run."I' think I'll use Timmy (La Estrella) as my hack in the morning. Normally after a race I give him the day off."
