Former Tipstar winner Katie Midwinter has four fancies for the action on Racing TV on Tuesday, with one selection at Pontefract, plus three from Tramore.
2.48 Pontefract: Never Let Go (E/W)
Ed Walker-trained Never Let Go doesn't have much to find on ratings and should be able to make her presence felt if returning in her best form.
She hasn't been seen to best effect in either of her two latest runs, but proved she still retains ability when second to Pina Sonata in a Listed Kempton contest on reappearance, further proving her credentials at this level.
Last term, the daughter of No Nay Never placed twice in Listed company as well as springing a surprise when a 22-1 winner of the Sandringham Stakes at Royal Ascot, earning herself a rating of 99 in the process.
Considering the level of ability she has shown in the past, and her relatively unexposed profile, making only her 12th start in this contest, it could be worth keeping the faith in the four-year-old contender, who is one to note under Kieran Shoemark for a yard that has saddled one winner from one runner at the track so far this year.
7.00 Tramore: Churchwarden (E/W)
Equipped with first-time blinkers, Churchwarden is an interesting contender in the Tramore Derby as he bids to return to form.
A mark of 60 could prove workable if returning to the force of old as he has been able to run well on the Flat from a higher rating in the past, including last year for John McConnell when fourth at Ayr in first-time cheekpieces.
Now trained by Henry de Bromhead, the six-year-old could find an improvement in form with the introduction of new headgear and the return to this sphere.
He may have needed his first run of the season on yard debut for the Knockeen team following a 223-day break at Roscommon in May, and, from his current rating, warrants each-way consideration at the early 10-1 available.
8.00 Tramore: Voice Of Reason (E/W)
Top weight Voice Of Reason could be capable of a bold showing for William Delahunty in the penultimate race on the card. He's stepping back up in trip following a disappointing run of form, and is now rated 1lb below his last winning mark on a rating of 76.
Making appeal at the weights if able to return to form, the son of Churchill shouldn't be discounted each-way under Robbie Colgan. He was in good form on the Flat during the second-half of last year into the winter, recording three wins as well as making the frame on multiple occasions, and could be capable of a resurgence at odds of 25-1.
8.30 Tramore: You Make Me Smile
Eight-year-old mare You Make Me Smile has been running well recently over obstacles and on the Flat, recording form figures of 3232 since her return to action when seventh at Navan in March.
She's currently 11lb higher than her last winning mark, when equipped with a first-time visor at Galway last autumn, but has run well from her current rating of 57 since then, including when second in a Sligo handicap in May.
The likeable contender should be capable of putting in a competitive effort at the weights in this contest under Billy Lee, possessing strong staying ability whilst still being relatively unexposed over this trip on the Flat. There could be more to come from her, and, in current form, she may be worth keeping onside.
