Andy Stephens studies the seven contenders for The Curragh Classic on Saturday and predicts the full finishing order.
The Juddmonte Irish Oaks promised to be an enthralling
rematch between Tuesday and Emily Upjohn, but neither will run.
Tuesday was scratched at the overnight stage, on Thursday, with Emily Upjohn, ruled out 24 hours later because of travel complications.
Aidan O'Brien, the trainer of Tuesday, is still triple-handed in his quest for a seventh success in the race but the home team's No 1 contender looks the Jessica Harrington-trained Magical Lagoon, who won the Ribblesdale at Royal Ascot last month. Here’s a guide to all the contenders.
1 CAIRDE GO DEO
Trainer: Ger Lyons. Timeform rating: 115. Odds: 7-1.
Lost her maiden tag at The Curragh last summer and arrives on the back of successive Listed wins at Navan and Leopardstown. Looks ready for another try in deeper waters but plenty more required with her comeback defeat, when well adrift of Concert Hall and Magcal Lagoon, suggesting she is up against it for win purposes.

2 EMILY DICKINSON
Trainer: Aidan O'Brien. Timeform rating: 99. Odds: 6-1.
Seeks to emulate here dam, Chicquita, who won the Irish Oaks in 2013 and is closely related to Magic Wand, who went off odds-on for the 2018 renewal only to fluff her lines. She’s done little to suggest she is capable of hitting the jackpot, including when touched off over 1m 6f in a Group Three at Leopardstown last time.
3 EMILY UPJOHN - NON RUNNER
Trainer: John & Thady Gosden. Timeform rating: 130p. Odds: --.

Connections ruled her out on Friday because of travel complications.
4 FENNELA
Trainer: Jessica Harrington. Timeform rating: 96p. Odds: 16-1.
The daughter of Sea The Stars is a half-sister to three Group One winners and been making up for lost time after being unraced at two. Seemed to be learning on the job in her first two races before landing a fillies’ maiden in workmanlike style over course and distance last month, when equipped with first-time cheekpieces. Fast-tracked into top company.
5 HISTORY
Trainer: Aidan O'Brien. Timeform rating: 115. Odds: 6-1.
She changed hands for the best part of £3 million as a yearling but yet to justify that price tag. Took three attempts to get off the mark last year and put in her place since landing a Group Three over a mile at Leopardstown on her return. Finished a one-paced third to Magical Lagoon in the Ribblesdale on her latest start.
6 MAGICAL LAGOON
Trainer: Jessica Harrington. Timeform rating: 121p. Odds: 5-4.
The Galileo filly was a Group Three winner at The Curragh over a mile as a two-year-old and showed a combination of staying power and gameness to master Sea Silk Road in the Ribblesdale at Royal Ascot last time, having been touched off by Concert Hall on her return at Navan. Emily Upjohn's late defection has left her in pole position.
7 SHOW OF STARS
Trainer: Paddy Twomey. Timeform rating: 107. Odds: 16-1.
It doesn’t pay to underestimate anything that her trainer runs but this looks an ambitious project given she’s been beaten in each of her four races this term (including in a three-runner affair last time) and is not certain to stay this far on running style or pedigree.
8 TOY
Trainer: Aidan O'Brien. Timeform rating: 113. Odds: 8-1.
She’s out of a dam who has already produced three Group One winners, including Gleneagles, but Toy hasn’t looked like adding to her lustre – merely helping make up the numbers in the French 1000 Guineas and French Oaks. The trip may also be a stumbling block.
ANDY’S VERDICT AND PREDICTED FINISHING ORDER
Magical Lagoon relished tackling a mile and a half for the first time in the Ribblesdale, when History was among the support cast. Cairde Go Deo has been brought along steadily and may be the one to chase her home.
