With the heart of the 2023/2024 Jump season fast approaching, Jamie Moore has selected four horses from dad’s yard in Lower Beeding he is particularly looking forward to.
Goshen could run in the Cesarewitch (focusonracing.com)
Goshen
Before the triple Grade Two winner embarks on a campaign back over hurdles Moore has hinted that the Authorized gelding could take his chance in next month’s Club Godolphin Cesarewitch Handicap at Newmarket.
He said: “Goshen will always run his race over anything between two and a half and three miles when he goes right-handed.
“His worst runs have been when he has gone over fences or gone left-handed. I still 100 per cent believe there is another good race in him when he gets his conditions.
“He is in the Cesarewitch and that is a possible plan. We will see how the conditions are and how he is training over the next few weeks before deciding on that.
“If he ran in the Cesarewitch I imagine Hector Crouch would ride him as he has done a lot with him.”
Hermino AA, Givega and Bo Zenith
While Goshen is already an established graded race performer Moore expects plenty to be heard about Hermino AA, Givega and Bo Zenith, who was last seen beaten by a short-head in the Grade One Jewson Anniversary 4-Y-0 Juvenile Hurdle at Aintree in April, over the coming months.
He added: “Hermino AA is a nice horse that won a couple of novice hurdles last season, and we expect him to keep on progressing this season.
“Givega is a lovely horse that will be going novice chasing this season. Hopefully it will be a really wet winter as on really heavy ground he is different gear.
“Bo Zenith was in front before and after the line at Aintree, which was frustrating, but it will be nice to see what he can do this season.
“However, it is always hard for four-year-olds in their second season. I don’t know what the plan will be with him as to where he will start, but he will be staying over hurdles this season.”
