A comfortable winner of this last year, Goodie Two Shoes went on to finish second in the Melbourne Cup – an insane run for a mare drawn in stall 20.

The ground was a concern at Limerick, and it is amazing she was beaten so far, given how nicely she travelled into the straight. Presumably, this has been part of the plan, and it is hard to see what beats her.

Looked a threat for most of the race at Cork last time out, when returning to handicap company, and he was not given the hardest time once his run flattened out.

He is a lot better than these rivals, Ben Coen is aboard, one of his main rivals is out of the handicap, and there are only six other contenders here, yet he is chalked up at 8-1. There is obvious pace in this race, too, which will suit.
