How To Bet £20 ante-post on the Weatherbys Super Sprint

Six of the past nine renewals of the Weatherbys Super Sprint have been won by fillies and Bellarena Lady looks capable of improving that sequence at Newbury on Saturday.
The Ed Dunlop-trained youngster, available at 10-1 with Unibet, has plenty of zip, has plenty of experience and, as can be vital in this £200,000 contest, was cheaply brought as a yearling. The conditions of the race dictate that the less you cost, the less weight you carry.
Bellarena Lady changed hands for 12,000gns as a yearling and as a consequence will have just 8st 2lb to shoulder, with only Sienna Bonnie (8st 1lb) carrying less. Mrs Danvers (8st in 2016) and Body And Soul (7st 12lb in 2012) have been similarly cheaply bought fillies to hit the jackpot in the Super Sprint.
She’s already proven to be a good buy by winning at Leicester and Yarmouth, having finished runner-up to Desert Dreamer on her debut at Newmarket’s Craven Meeting in April. The winner is among the best juveniles around and the form of that race at Headquarters has been franked time and again.
The one blemish on Bellarena Lady’s record is her tame effort in the Listed Marygate Stakes at York in May but you can put a line through that effort as she raced under the stands’ rail when all the action was unfolding down the centre. She’d had the winner and runner-up well-behind when runner-up at Newmarket.
Bellarena Lady was swiftly back on song at Yarmouth, where she was in command from the start and strong at the finish. She was carrying a penalty and clocked a slick time, with the runner-up, Tardis, giving a timely boost to the form when romping home at Bath on Tuesday afternoon.
We didn’t see her in action at Royal Ascot but I imagine that was a deliberate ploy. Instead, she’s been freshened up for a much more richly endowed race which she has a greater chance of winning. Neither Mrs Danvers and Body And Soul ran at Ascot, either.

Bellarena Lady wins at Leicester after a promising Newmarket debut
Chipotle and Vintage Clarets were in action at the Royal Meeting, and the pair excelled themselves. The former won the Windsor Castle Stakes, while the latter was a fine third in the Coventry.
The pair clearly have to be on any shortlist, although that is reflected by the ante-post betting with Vintage Clarets no bigger than 5-2 and Chipotle a top-priced 11-4. In effect, the layers reckon there is a 55 pr cent chance that one of the pair will oblige.
The drop back to the minimum trip is a niggle for Vintage Clarets, but Chipotle (who had him behind when landing the Brocklesby) is difficult to find chinks in away from soft ground and, with a dry week forecast, warrants a saver. I can see him going off clear favourite as he clocked a faster time than the Norfolk winner, 24 hours later, carrying 2lb more.
Five winners since 2009 ran at Royal Ascot beforehand, the latest being Happy Romance last year after she had been fifth in the Queen Mary.

Richard Hannon, the trainer of Happy Romance, has three Super Sprint wins to his name and, before him, his father chalked up seven wins in the race.
Clearly, whatever is dispatched from East Everleigh this weekend will warrant a second look. Hannon has six entries left to juggle, with Gubbass, who won on his debut in early April, being the most intriguing.
There is some substance to that form as Angel Bleu, beaten about five lengths into third, has since won twice and was beaten a similar margin in the Coventry. The fact Gubbass has not run since hints at a subsequent problem or two, though, and others are entitled to be more streetwise than a colt trading at about 7-1.
Delmona, chalked up at 12-1 by William Hill, is the other on my shortlist. She ran better than the bare form suggests in a 6f Listed contest at Newmarket last time, having won in tidy style on her debut at Bath.
She will be suited by dropping back to the minimum trip and her tendency to hang left may be because of immaturity, rather than waywardness.
