Our resident website tipster Dave Nevison marks your card for the jumps at Wetherby and Wincanton, with all-weather action also coming up from Kempton Park live on Racing TV.
3.05 Wincanton: GENTLEMAN JACQUES
The switch back to hurdles and the application of headgear has clearly suited him on his last two outings and I doubt whether the extra two furlongs here will be a negative judged by his pedigree.
Conditional jockey Cameron Johnstone-Baker has only been out of the frame once in his last 10 rides and his boss Emma Lavelle is giving him plenty of opportunity in utilising what looks a very valuable 10lb claim.
The rider is on a back-to-form horse in Gentleman Jacques, who has gone up by 11lbs for a wide-margin win at this track last time so the jockey’s claim is obviously very helpful in negating that rise.
3.08 Wetherby: HIGH MOON
High Moon is well overdue a win and this looks his best chance for a while.
High Moon has raced three times over three miles and it now looks pretty clear he doesn’t get home over that trip. He weakened in the straight at Market Rasen last time and he will be much more at home dropped down four furlongs now.
He drops down in grade here from his latest two starts and, having been partnered by both of the useful Maggs brothers recently, Charlie retains the mount this time and reduces High Moon's weight by 5lbs.
Trainer Rebecca Menzies has increased the severity of the headgear for this run too and hopefully that is a positive.
3.53 Wetherby: BOWLING BUDDY
I expect a very good run at a track that clearly suits.
Bowling Buddy definitely looks as though he is not just a summer jumping specialist based on his recent return from a break.
He showed real determination (an important trait at Wetherby) when defying a double penalty in a novice event here in October and he has been given plenty of time to get over his run at the start of this month.
He is stepped up further in trip and, now slightly down in grade, it looks unlikely that either will be a negative here.
