Horse racing tips for Tuesday: Dave Nevison's Taunton bets

The application of headgear is always a significant pointer with a Paul Nicholls-trained horse, and the fact that a hood, as well as a tongue tie, are applied for the first time here suggests a real attempt to get this slightly wayward character to settle in his races. 

This five-year-old does have some decent form next to his name, including at a sharp track like this, and I am sure that Harry Cobden will be pleased that there is pretty much a guaranteed pace here, with several who have made the running in the past.

This should mean Cobden is able to settle his mount better, and hopefully enable Beny Nahar Road to realise his potential.

This is a modest handicap chase, but it might give an opportunity for Howyouplaythegame to finally break his duck, and I am betting on him being able to get the lead here, which seems likely. 

The eight-year-old has run a couple of decent races from the front, notably when he was beaten less than a length in third under this rider at Doncaster in a similar race two starts ago. 

He has disappointed again since, but this does look a weak contest, and I am happy to take a chance.

Although he was very fortunate to win last time out at Sandown, when Elle Est Beau fell at the last, he still continued his improvement and showed his gameness to get up close home and complete a hat-trick. 

This goes down as an excellent training performance by Kayley Woollacott who still might have plenty of upside to play with as Gyllen was a Group Two performer on the Flat for Andre Fabre. 

He had a long time in the wilderness for two other trainers before joining Woollacott, and while Gyllen has gone up another 5lb for the fortuitous win last time out, he is still racing in very modest company and can extend his winning run.
