Horse racing tips: Dave Nevison's three best bets for Thursday

Tregony has not won yet this season but enjoyed a bumper spell this time last year and hails from a yard in very hot form.

The four-year-old looks very much as though she will be suited by this step back down to ten furlongs as she hasn’t appeared to quite stay the extra two furlongs on her past two starts.

Her last effort over this trip came in a slowly run, small-field contest at Ascot where she finished a below-par fourth, but she really should have won with a clear run on her seasonal debut, and it is not difficult to make valid excuses for her defeats this season.

It doesn’t appear her handicap mark is anything she cannot manage – she has dropped a pound for her latest effort - and she just needs things to fall right in a race for her to score again.

Mr Adam O’Shea claims a useful 5lb on this eight-year-old who he rides regularly and won twice on in similar events last season.

My Brother Mike is now back on a rating a pound lower than his latest victory and might be poised to score again soon. He ran an encouraging race over this course and distance last time out and doesn’t need to improve too much to get involved here.

Ten furlongs looks his ideal trip and, from a decent draw, if he gets a decent pace to aim at, he might well be able to steal a place at least at decent odds.

Must Be Royale is relatively lightly raced as a four-year-old handicapper and should not remain a maiden too much longer, given his consistent record.

Hollie Doyle got him closest to victory when narrowly beaten on him at Kempton earlier in the year and is back on board on Thursday evening.

The selection is a couple of pounds lower than that outing now and in a wide-open race, he has every chance to score over an ideal trip.
