Our website tipster has a trio of all-weather picks for you on Friday and takes in the evening meeting from Chelmsford. Enjoy seven live races from the track from 5.15pm on Racing TV.
I watched this one closely last time as I had a good bet on Beach Break, who was backed from 2-1 into odds-on to beat him - but this horse refused to give in and in the end battled on to be a decisive winner.
Bill Cody is 4lb higher now but has won off much higher than this in the past (on turf). He has been in very good form at this track recently and, if anything, it looks as though the extra two furlongs will suit him perfectly. He can make all again here.
She hasn’t won a race since her debut and has been massively disappointing after going off at just 7-1 for a Group Three contest on her second start.
However, she didn’t run so badly last time on her first start after a wind op. I’m hoping she may be able to build substantially on that in this small field, especially over this extra furlong in trip.
Obviously with a succession of poor runs her handicap mark has tumbled, but my hopes are more pinned on this switch to the all-weather for the first time. She is half-sister to two runners who both showed their best form on an artificial surface, so it is perhaps a little surprising that Richard Fahey has not rolled this particular dice already.
She was withdrawn last week when I put her up, but there is no shortage of 0-50 classified races at present and she has just as good a chance in this one.
The wide draw is probably going to affect her less than most as she usually falls out of the stalls and, if she is in any sort of form, she will pick up plenty of these. She signalled a return to form last time after a period in the wilderness having been raised to a higher mark than she could manage, while her two latest victories came at around this level.
