Henry de Bromhead readying three-pronged challenge to Altior

Altior might have scared off plenty of potential rivals in the Arkle Trophy at Cheltenham next month but Henry de Bromhead is planning to have three goes at him.De Bromhead, who won the Arkle in 2010 with Sizing Europe, plans to run Some Plan, Three Stars and Ordinary World"I'd say we could end up with three in it," said De Bromhead."Some Plan won the Irish Arkle, Three Stars has won a Grade Three at Punchestown and was just beaten in another Grade Three, and Ordinary World was second to Min on ground he wouldn't have been mad about at Leopardstown."I hate going out with the train of thought that we're running for second, I'm not confidently thinking I'm going to win, ratings will tell you I'm not, but I'm running to win and that's it."Earlier in the season Identity Thief looked like being a serious Arkle contender but after winning his first two nothing has gone right since and he missed the Flyingbolt Novice Chase last weekend with a late setback."He's good, he's just been frustrating since Christmas after a great start to the season," said De Bromhead."He might go to Leopardstown next Sunday for a two-mile-one winners of two novice chase."He seems really good again, it was just a hiccup and if it happened three days before he'd have been OK to run."The stable's Monalee created a big impression when winning a Grade Three at Clonmel and having already come off second best behind Albert Bartlett favourite Death Duty, the Neptune could be favoured."He's in the Neptune and Albert Bartlett and we're trying to weight up which way we'll go," said De Bromhead."He won well in Clonmel over three miles and was beaten by Death Duty over two and a half."Do we want to take on a horse that has already beaten us giving us weight? We just need to work all that out."One horse who may have sneaked under the radar is Capital Force, a winner last time out at Thurles."He had a great run first time out at Fairyhouse, but I was disappointed with him at Leopardstown at Christmas," said the County Waterford handler."Ruby (Walsh) felt he got it wrong at Leopardstown the second time, at two miles he'd have won six or eight lengths and been very impressive. I think I got it wrong running him over two-two."He went and got the job done in Thurles on ground he would have hated."He's by Kayf Tara out of a Presenting mare and at a massive price he might be a fun each-way bet in the Supreme."
