Harry Whittington eyeing Becher Chase aim for Emerging Force

Harry Whittington believes Emerging Force will be ideally suited to the Grand National fences in the Randox Health Becher Chase at Aintree.
The Sparsholt handler is considering giving the seven-year-old an outing in the Grade Three contest on December 9 after he made a satisfactory reappearance at the same level at Ascot earlier this month.
"He has come out of the Ascot race so well. He was so fresh on Monday morning. We are thinking about the Becher Chase as we always felt he could be a Grand National type of horse as he has got the right sort of profile for it," said Whittington.
"I was happy enough with the run at Ascot as he had not run for the best part of seven months. He just made a mistake at a crucial part of the race when they were starting to put him under pressure.
"That is the only real mistake he has ever made over fences as he is very good with his jumping. I'm not saying we would have beaten the winner, but he would have finished closer.
"He has had that first run now and he will be hard fit come the Becher."
