Dubawi Fifty (14-1) made a winning seasonal reappearance when wearing down long-time leader Tor in the last 100 yards on his turf debut.
The four-year-old, who had just six previous runs on the all-weather, took the 15-furlong Parkdean Resorts Handicap by a length and a half for trainer Karen McLintock.
"He's had a nice holiday. He's been a big, backward horse and his owners Paul and Clare Rooney have been very patient with him," the Newcastle-based trainer told Racing UK.
"He's come out and shown he is a nice, progressive horse. I knew this trip would be no trouble."
Euro Nightmare showed admirable toughness to beat older horses and geldings in the Western House Handicap.
Keith Dalgleish's three-year-old filly was too strong for fellow 5-2 joint-favourite Weekend Offender and was half a length on top of her market rival at the line.
Paul Hanagan steered home Khelman (8-1) to beat Tatlisu by a length and a quarter and give trainer Richard Fahey a one-two in the Sundrum Castle Handicap.
Jim Goldie's Strong Steps (17-2) showed no ill-effects from his disappointing run on the Tapeta at Newcastle on Saturday to defy top weight in the Sandylands Caravan Park Handicap in the hands of Paddy Mathers.
Kevin Ryan's New Show (7-1) made a promising debut, despite being the only newcomer among five runners, when seeing off Casta Nostra by a length and a half in the Racing UK EBF Stakes under Tom Eaves.
Miss Goldsmith, ridden by PJ McDonald, opened her account at the 18th attempt on her first start for Rebecca Menzies in division one of the Wemyss Bay Holiday Park Handicap.
The 14-1 shot stormed past Magic Journey in the final furlong to prevail by a length and a half.
Menzies said: "We were a little unsure about the trip and the ground. We've had her about a month.
"She ran in a maiden last time and was back in a handicap today, which was probably more her level.
"She's got a really good attitude at home. We've given a couple of hard bits of work at home and each one she's had she's come out of it better and better."
Dianne Sayer's Redarna sprang a 20-1 surprise in division two when sent on by James Sullivan to overpower Jack Blane in the closing stages, scoring by a neck.
Ben Robinson made most on Michael Dods' Hot Hannah (11-1) to win the Creating Amazing Memories Apprentice Handicap by a diminishing neck from Boogie Babe.
