Dave Nevison has been amongst the winners this week and our top tipster has three more fancies on the fourth day of the Qatar Goodwood Festival - live on Racing TV. 1.20 Goodwood: Bashful Boy
This marathon may mot be as competitive as it sometimes is and, while I am not too confident about Bashful Boy’s chances of winning it, I do think that 33-1 to get in the first four might be value.
David Pipe’s nine-year-old has been doing better on the Flat than over Jumps recently and his ninth place in the Cesarewitch last autumn would definitely put him in with a place chance here.
He ran well enough when third at Newbury last time out and, even though he is out of the weights and therefore running off a higher mark, Amie Waugh’s 3lb claim will negate that. If he is on a going day I feel he could surprise a few that are better fancied here.
2.30 Goodwood: Greek Order
Greek Order has been placed in the past in a Cambridgeshire (when sent off at 5-2) and, since he returned from America, has already placed in the Hunt Cup. I am pretty convinced he will win one of these Heritage races before too long.
He was an excellent second last time at Sandown on Eclipse day and is off the same mark this afternoon.
Oisin Murphy has won on him before and is back on board this afternoon, and he looks to have bagged a decent draw in stall 3, so hopefully he can get the breaks and land a big one.
4.55 Goodwood: Yabher
The outside draw may not be an inconvenience for Yabher here, especially after watching what Tom Marquand did earlier in the week.
This competitive three-year-old handicap looks set to be run a a break neck pace and that may well also suit Yabher, who is one of the few in the field who starts slowly and will be coming from off the pace.
The son of Sea The Stars has improved with each run so far and was definitely value for more than the distance he won by last time.
He looked particularly strong at the finish, so looks set to be suited by this step up in trip.
