Leading Royal Ascot hope
has been snapped up by Amo Racing, but will stay in training with Stephen Thorne.
Kia Joorabchian's operation is keen for as many winners as possible next week and a deal has been agreed with owners Shamrock Thoroughbreds and Liam Ferguson. The syndicate's members voted almost unanimously to sell.
Gleneagle Bay has been placed in three premier handicaps since being sold out of Joseph O'Brien's yard and was just touched off in the Victoria Cup on his most recent start after looking all over the winner.
Thorne told Racing TV: "Gleneagle Bay has been bought by Amo Racing to run in the Buckingham Palace Handicap at Royal Ascot.
"The horse will be remaining in my care and we are looking forward to next week. We are thrilled to have formed a new alliance with Kia Joorabchian and his team at Amo Racing and we are looking forward to the future."
Thorne has had a fine season so far and added: "Independent Expert goes for the Kensington Palace on Wednesday after winning well on Ascot trials day at Naas a few weeks ago.
"She won’t have much up her sleeve handicap-wise, but she’s an in-form filly, the trip, ground and stiff mile will suit her very well."
