George Baker hopes
Belgian Bill can enjoy one more moment centre stage by registering back-to-back victories in the Anatolia Trophy in Turkey later this year.
After soft ground ruled the nine-year-old out of the Betfred Mile at Goodwood, the Chiddingfold handler plans to give the son of Exceed And Excel a prep run before sending him out to Veliefendi racecourse in a bid to follow up last year's victory in the mile-and-a-quarter prize.
Baker said: "Belgian
Bill won the Anatolia Trophy last year and that's where I would like to go with him after his next run.
"He is a nine-year-old now and they have rather annoyingly changed the rules as it used to be for entire horses only, but geldings can now enter.
"It used to be use a bit of a loophole for older horses, but now it is open to geldings it might be a bit more competitive.
"It is that old cliche that he doesn't owe us anything and he has been a complete legend, but if we can get one more big day out of him that would be fantastic."
