There is a fascinating card at
Galway on Thursday, with some races very much open to a market springer or two.
The penultimate contest (5.40) fascinates me but with three or four horses who could come alive in the market it's a little too risky to be getting involved.
Here are two to consider, including one in the Guinness
Galway Hurdle. Be lucky.
3.55 Galway: Nectaris
It's been a scarcely believable 17 winners in Ireland this month for Jessica Harrington with almost half her runners finishing in the first four.
Nectaris is pretty obvious here as she holds both Affogato and Surrounding on Fairyhouse form, when she was worn down close home.
She’s the clear pace angle, has a cracking draw and this is a race that a lot of the form horses simply won’t get into.
5.05 Galway Top Bandit at 25-1 with Bet365, who offer six places
This horse is three from five over hurdles, the defeats coming on his first hurdling start and when down the field in the County Hurdle.
It’s worth remembering he was sent off at 11-1 at Cheltenham and was one of the last off the bridle.
That might have been too much for him, but he's lightly raced, plus trained by Gordon Elliott and ridden by the excellent Kevin Sexton. He’s a big price in what looks an average renewal.
