Betting expert Dave Nevison has two selection for the meeting at Ayr plus another fancy at Exeter. Watch how they fare on Racing TV.
4.10 Ayr: Reforme
Reforme rates a solid each-way prospect against a rapidly improving favourite who is on a four timer but will be a short price.
Tom Gretton has chosen to run his six-year-old in the west coast of Scotland rather than much nearer home at Warwick and that decision looks interesting.
Reforme showed his first real form this season when second under a 5lb claimer at Catterick last time out.
That run would be good enough to make him competitive in a race such as this and his best efforts from last season at least match his latest run.
If he confirms or improves just a little - the slightly further trip looks set to suit - then he will be a big danger to Lord Of All Saints.
Coming your way . . . our Cheltenham Festival build-up will begin from 10am every day!
5.10 Ayr: Le Grand Vert
Noel Kelly regularly sends runners to Scotland and Le Grand Vert can enhance his good record at the track.
After scoring in Ireland over a longer trip than he races over on Friday it has been a little surprising to see him since campaigned mainly over shorter trips.
He returned to 3m at this track last time and ran well in a similar 0-100 grade handicap. He was second, beaten less than two lengths, and would have been closer still but for a mistake two out. He has the same useful amateur rider claiming 5lb on board and, against weak opposition, is a worthy favourite to win this.
5.22 Exeter: Chauffeur Driven
David Pipe’s gelding is a winning point to pointer and if he is ever going to break his maiden over hurdles it is going to be in a low grade staying handicap such as this.
The six-year-old seemed to react well to the switch to a visor last time when he finished seven lengths second at this track, where he has run other good races.
He made a mistake two out but was doing all his best work late on and looked very much as though he would be suited by the step back up to 3m. He has been dropped 1lb for that good effort and, at the least, should again make the frame.
