Dave Nevison makes a case for two contenders running at on Friday plus also has an each-way selection at . You can enjoy both meetings live on Racing TV.

1.30 York: Naxos

Naxos has won a race in October for the past two seasons and has a lot going for him to do the same again this year.
He arrives here fresher than most of his rivals having just had his first run for six months last time out when he was a really good third at Goodwood.
Stall one means he might well have the perfect draw for a front-runner over this track and trip and he has proven himself able to go well on very soft ground.
The application of a tongue strap might well have been a positive factor last time and it is good to see it persisted with.

3.45 York: Trilby

Trilby was the subject of a huge gamble at Haydock when last seen but on a day when there was a clear advantage in racing over towards the inside of the track, he ended up trying to challenge on the stands' side, and was never going to get there.
Stall one here, and in a big-field handicap which is set to be run at a very fast pace, Trilby could find himself in the ideal situation to be towed into this contest.
Although he has won on fast ground, heavier ground bring out the best in Trilby and even though it will be a bit of a white-knuckle ride watching him weave through this field, he just needs a bit of luck in running to score for the fourth time this season.

4.10 Newmarket: Sun God

Hughie Morrison stepped this three-year-old up considerably in trip last time out in the Melrose at York and it looked as though it was a step too far.
He went like a real contender for most of the race but just weakened out of things in the last two furlongs. He still produced a very strong performance to finish fifth, though.
Morrison has obviously had a handicap at one of the big meetings in mind for Sun God given the way he has been campaigned, but his best effort aside from York came at this course when he was second on his reappearance at the Guineas meeting.
This trip and track look ideal, and with the way the Morrison yard is finishing the season, Sun God could be great value at a double-figure price (10-1 at the time of writing).
