Friday tips: Dave Nevison has a top trio for York

Betting expert Dave Nevison shares his best bets for a seven-race card at York that you can enjoy live on Racing TV. Our coverage will also include the meetings at Sandown Park, Market Rasen, Fairyhouse and Gowran Park
1.50 York: Tokyo Joe
Tokyo Joe is a lightly raced four-year-old who looks ready for a step back up to 7f and this big field handicap could bring out the best in him and show that he is well handicapped.
He took a while to get off the mark but won his maiden over 6f at Lingfield at the end of last season and shaped well on his return at Ascot last month, when trading at short odds in running.
Ed Walker has his string in tremendous form and has booked excellent apprentice Ashley Lewis.
4.10 York: Altereq
Altereq looks on a decent mark and appeals as the type who could end the season as a very decent handicapper despite still being a maiden at this stage.
He left the Gosdens’ for Jim Goldie’s after just three run and has had two very promising spins for his new yard.
His reappearance effort over this course and distance in a similar big field promised much and he was too far off the pace in a slowly run tactical affair last time, when getting going far too late.
He is 2lb lower here and retains the services of the outstanding Lauren Young. A good run looks assured.
5.18 York: Jez Bomb
Sam England has had four winners from her past ten runners and one of them, Trilby, did me a big favour when scoring earlier in the week.
England has a chance of a decent priced York winner here as Jez Bomb has been most consistent recently with only one run, his penultimate over 12f here at York, letting his figures down.
He has already bounced back from that effort with a good run last time, and I am expecting this race, will looks sure to be run at a fast pace, to bring out the best in him.
Jez Bomb often starts slowly and needs to pick his way through , given several are likely to be weakening in front of him, I am happy to back him to be placed at the least.
