So You Know is closely linked to my nap that runs later at Aintree and got second at Market Rasen because Quaviste crashed out at the last. However, that was still a very good run in the context of this Fontwell handicap. 

The Bailey/Nicholls gelding subsequently ran another good second on his handicap debut at Warwick and even though a poor run on his final start of the season has to be forgiven, he still looks the type who can win handicaps this season. 

Staying trips should definitely suit him better than the minimum trip and with his stable in very good form (three wins from the last 10 runs) he looks set to run well on his reappearance.

I am hoping Montregard will be fit enough on his first run since May, and if he is, I feel he might be a stronger stayer than Don’t Tell Georgie who definitely looked as if that was as far as he wanted to go when winning at Cheltenham last month and is 7lbs higher here. 

Montregard has won three times at distances a fraction short of three miles and has won by taking things up late and powering home, so I have no reservations about this trip and will be looking for him turning up between the last two fences. 

The JP McManus gelding is the choice of Harry Cobden which is a positive, and with the Skelton runner set to go off a warm favourite, he might be a decent price.

Dan Skelton gave this horse a bit of a baptism when switching a maiden novice to handicaps mid-winter, and Quaviste wasn’t up to that level of competition. However, he did run very well on both occasions and certainly gained valuable experience both times. 

He was noted staying on nicely out wide in Kelso’s big handicap of the year on his final start, looking a certain future winner. 

He has been left on the same mark and I feel he will be ready to build on form shown so far and could well prove to be thrown in here. 

I would be very surprised if he is not ready for this and feel Quaviste could be one to follow for a few runs.
