Friday horse racing tips: Dave Nevison's three best bets

Top tipster Dave Nevison likes the chances of a couple of contenders running at Goodwood on Friday plus also has a fancy at Pontefract in the evening. Watch both meetings live on Racing TV.

Has a more positive profile than most of these in that she has won her past three outings in handicaps in this country before she was set some difficult tasks, and had a decent time in Meydan for Jane Chapple-Hyam during the Spring.
She might well get the run of the race from stall three here and if she improves from a recent spin on the all-weather, which came following a 78-day break, then she should go close.
Most of her rivals struggle to put two good runs together, so I am happy to side with this five-year-old.

Has won four times on the all-weather since the start of 2022, which included a quick-fire hat-trick, and I believe he won quite a good race last time, when he bolted up by five lengths, as he beat three last-time-out winners in the process.
He switches back to turf here, and is now off an 8lb higher mark over a longer trip, but even though he has not yet won on turf, he ran respectably at Haydock and Nottingham this spring, so it seems unlikely to bother him.
He would have won carrying an extra 8lb last time out, and another two furlongs would have only increased his superiority, so the step up in trip here will not be an issue.

Broctune Red is an admirable performer who has done me a favour in the past and almost made it an afternoon to remember last Monday when getting beaten just a head, as my other two selections that day won!
The eight-year-old is clearly capable of scoring away from Newcastle and off a rating of 64, it is no surprise to see him turned out again quickly before his new mark kicks in.
Pontefract’s stiff uphill finish should suit this strong stayer at this trip, and he holds strong claims.
