Betting expert Dave Nevison has fancies at three different meetings in his quest for more winners this week.

4.00 Nottingham: Bibulous

Has been beaten off this mark a couple of times already but definitely looked as though he was capable of scoring at this level last time out when an unlucky third over this course and distance.

He got stuck on the rail at a crucial time and could not make up enough ground at the finish on that occasion. He has a typical profile for a lightly raced Henry Candy sprinter and looks one capable of progressing through the ranks. This doesn’t look the deepest of races.

5.40 Doncaster: Mercurius Power

Is from a stable in excellent form and has definitely been at his best on his two most recent starts. In a race that is set to be run at a good pace, he looks to have a good chance of notching a second win of this season.

Mercurius Power is progressing nicely and won on his penultimate start and before being narrowly under a penalty at Sandown last time. He is able to run off a 3lb lower mark here and that could well be enough to get him in front again. Trip and ground are ideal.

6.53 Ayr: Riot

Has been disappointing for both John Gosden and Johnny Murtagh, even though he has run some good races for both on occasions.

He looks the type of older horse David O’Meara has excelled with in the past, and he arrives at the yard on a comparatively lowly handicap mark with expectations not as high as they previously have been.

A well run 7f looks as though it is probably his best scenario and there is pace on the cards here, so I am hoping that freshened up for a new yard he may go close. He ran a very good race on his first run for Murtagh in a much better race than this.
