William Buick opts to ride Ruling Court in Betfred 2000 Guineas

William Buick has opted to ride Ruling Court over stablemate Shadow Of Light in Saturday's Betfred 2000 Guineas, live on Racing TV.
An impressive winner of a Listed contest at Meydan in March, Ruling Court has been strong in the ante-post market this week, and has the benefit of race fitness over his stablemate who won both the Middle Park and Dewhurst Stakes last term.
Ante-post favourite Field Of Gold is also among the 11 contenders declared for the Newmarket showpiece
Trained by John and Thady Gosden, Field Of Gold won the Craven Stakes over the Classic course and distance last month, with his three-and-a-half-length win sending him to the head of the market.
Godolphin also has a third string in the Saeed bin Suroor-trained Tornado Alert, who is long odds having won only a Newcastle maiden to date.
As expected, Aidan O’Brien did not declare Twain, leaving Dewhurst runner-up Expanded as the only Ballydoyle representative.
Jessica Harrington’s Green Impact and the Joseph O’Brien-trained Scorthy Champ, who landed the National Stakes at two, complete the Irish contenders.
Craven second Wimbledon Hawkeye represents James Owen while fourth-placed Benevento also features, along with Seagulls Eleven and Yah Mo Be There.
