Evan Williams outlines Bet365 Gold Cup plan for Buywise

Buywise is set to tackle the Bet365 Gold Cup at Sandown following his return to form at the Cheltenham Festival.Evan Williams' charge put four disappointing efforts behind him when finishing fourth in the Ultima Handicap Chase, snatching minor honours in the dying strides of the three-mile-one-furlong event.The 10-year-old had previously shown his best form at distances of around two and a half miles, but Williams thinks Buywise could now need a longer trip and is relatively unconcerned by the switch to an extended three miles and five furlongs.He said: "I was pleased to see him run so well at Cheltenham as he had been running so badly through the winter."We're now going to go to the Bet365 Gold Cup at Sandown, it's worth a crack with him."He popped around in the Grand National last year (12th) and he certainly looked to be staying on at Cheltenham, so perhaps a step up in trip is what he needs now."He came back fresh and well from Cheltenham and we think the race will suit him."Williams is also adopting a different approach with juvenile hurdler Evening Hush, who finished a 22-length 12th behind Defi Du Seuil in the Triumph Hurdle.Evening Hush had previously finished 13 lengths behind that horse in the Grade One Finale Hurdle at Chepstow back in December and Williams is now planning a step down in class for Thursday's 188Bet St Mary's Lands 4-Y-O Fillies' Handicap Hurdle at Warwick.He said: "I would say she will probably run at Warwick on Thursday."She's been second in a Grade One and a Grade Two and I think she's a very good filly, but she's only a little doll of a filly and I think it's been tough on her."We could have gone to Aintree, but I think Defi Du Seuil is a very, very good horse and we probably would have just finished in the first six again. I think she's just had her heart broken a bit."We will probably let her run at Warwick and hope she enjoys herself and we'll be happy if she's in the first four."
