David Easterby Saddles Up For Summer Festival Cycling Challenge

Sheriff Hutton based trainer David Easterby is swapping horsepower for pedal power this summer as he embarks on a sponsored bike ride linking the race meetings of the Go Racing In Yorkshire Summer Festival, sponsored by Sky Bet. 

The challenge will see David cycle between each of the festival's racecourses, covering hundreds of miles across the county while raising funds for Yorkshire Air Ambulance. 

The Go Racing In Yorkshire Summer Festival, sponsored by Sky Bet, is one of the highlights of the Yorkshire racing calendar, showcasing the very best of the sport at racecourses across the county. Now, David is adding an extra dimension to the celebration by taking on a gruelling endurance challenge in support of a worthy cause. 

Well known throughout the racing industry for his dedication, determination and passion for Yorkshire racing, David will visit every Summer Festival fixture by bicycle, to help raise awareness of his fundraising efforts. 

David Easterby said: "My dad has always been a big supporter of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and raised an enormous amount of funds for them through his point-to-point.   I wanted to do something a little different and challenge myself at the same time. The Summer Festival is a fantastic showcase for the sport and hopefully racing fans across the county will get behind the effort and help raise as much money as possible."

The challenge is expected to cover approximately 326 miles over the course of the festival week, taking David through some of Yorkshire's most spectacular countryside and connecting the racecourses that make the county one of the leading racing regions in Britain.
