5.30 Kempton: Pinjarra
There are plenty of decent amateurs riding in this sprint handicap, but Eireann Cagney would be my go-to jockey for these races, and the fact he is aboard Pinjarro here just edges it for me.
The John and Sean Quinn-trained five-year-old improved in the second half of last season, and although he has to be forgiven for a disappointing effort when favourite last time out, he might be the one to side with.
Pinjarra won at Southwell and Chelmsford last Autumn, and was also a good second over this course and distance on his penultimate start. He needs to get back on the improve here, but looks likely to do so with Cagney aboard.
6.30 Kempton: Mbappe
This looks one for the Loughnane team as Mbappe has been overdue a win after dropping down the weights recently.
He was third off his rating of 58 last time out but was hampered close home, and didn’t get the best of runs.
The selection was beaten less than a length and would have finished closer. It was also a similar scenario on his penultimate start where he was persistently denied a run.
Pace, or lack of it, could well be an issue again here, but hopefully Billy Loughnane will be able to steer a way through.
8.30 Kempton: Paradias
This is a good handicap to end the card, and Paradias looks capable of repeating last year's success off a pound higher mark.
He won narrowly 12 months ago but ran consistently well on his subsequent outings and, even though he missed the second half of 2025, he reappeared recently with a good second at Wolverhampton on Boxing Day.
He has been given time to get over that return, so should be on top form for this, and Rossa Ryan has won on him before, which is another positive.
