3.05 Ludlow: Regal Renaissance
Regal Renaissance might well have won on her latest start had she not fallen, and would have added to her good record at this track.
Henry Daly’s mare was two lengths down and beginning a serious challenge when she departed, and that form looks decent as the eventual winner has scored again since.
Daly has given Regal Renaissance plenty of time to get over that effort, so she should be ready once more. That was also the first time she had not completed, and I would be pretty confident she will not make the same mistake again.
The selection would have definitely been raised in the weights had she not fallen, and I think she may be a well-handicapped mare.
4.05 Ludlow: Diamonds Galore
There are a few lightly-raced types in this, but
Diamonds Galore looks the most obvious one, especially given the excellent form of the Nicky Henderson yard.
This mare was placed in a couple of bumpers, but her form has improved this Autumn since switching to hurdles, and she makes her handicap debut here after finishing runner-up on both starts this season.
She finished behind an improving Ben Pauling-trained mare at this track last time out, and there have already been a couple of winners from the race who finished well behind her, so an opening mark of 109 could well be lenient.
8.00 Kempton: Amazonian Dream
Amazonian Dream ran well last time to finish second at Lingfield when finishing well after being forced wide to challenge last time out.
The seven-year-old would likely have performed even better if the race had been run at a stronger pace. He looks set to get a better pace to aim at in this contest and, even though he has gone back up a pound since, I think Rod Millman's gelding is well handicapped.
He last won over this course and distance off a rating of 89, so if he does get the breaks in this, he only has to be in the same form as last time to record an overdue success.
