Top tipster Dave Nevison has three best bets from Catterick on Tuesday, with every race live on Racing TV.
3.15 Catterick: Slack Alice
Slack Alice has been in hot form over staying trips in recent weeks, winning the last twice, including battling on well to win narrowly at Stratford last time.
It looks like a wise move to switch her back to the Flat while she is in strong form. Micky Bowen’s mare will be running off her lowest ever Flat mark and against largely exposed types, so if her improvement isn’t confined to jumps, she could be very well in.
3.45 Catterick: Captain Cess
Captain Cess has certainly settled in well at the Declan Carroll yard and has run very well on both his starts, getting placed first time over five and a half furlongs and then winning nicely at Thirsk over seven furlongs last time out.
The four-year-old is now running at six furlongs, but given the way he won, I don’t feel the step back down in trip or a 4lb rise in the weights will stop him from going close in this winnable sprint.
4.15 Catterick: Hansteen
The tight Catterick bends might well suit Hansteen and he looks a very viable alternative to the Sir Mark Prescott-trained thrice-raced handicap debutant.
The Quinns' gelding won nicely at Pontefract before coming up against a different Prescott project last time out. The market may well inform as to how well regarded Halimed is, but Hansteen is definitely a viable alternative.
