2.45 Bangor: Slim Marvel
This eight-year-old mare has only been with Rebecca Curtis for a couple of runs so far, but it does look as though she has settled in well to her new surroundings, especially based on her latest start.
Slim Marvel finished second behind Sparkling Duke, who has returned to form, at Ffos Las in a race that has already produced a next time out winner.
That good effort came over a similar trip to this, and Slim Marvel definitely seemed to appreciate the step back up to three miles.
She went well there for her 5lb claiming jockey, Toby McCain-Mitchell, who is back on board here, and even though she has been raised 4lb for not winning, I think she has a good chance of recording another victory.
3.50 Bangor: Palamon
This six-year-old appears to be being primed by Dan Skelton for a certain target, and my only worry is that I may be jumping on board too early, as he could well be an Ayr or Perth contender for later this season.
However, the fact that Dan Skelton has engaged a tongue tie for the first time since Palamon joined the yard makes me thinks he may be about to hit top form.
Palamon has been dropping rapidly down the handicap following modest efforts, but it definitely looks as though there has been an eye to the future in some of those runs, and at some outings suggest there will be a bigger effort from him soon.

4.30 Newcastle: Didntgotwenty
Subsequent runs show that Didntgotwenty produced up a good performance on New Year’s Day at Musselburgh when beaten 12 lengths by Marty McFly, who has already won another two races. To his credit, he also had another next time out winner behind him in third.
He showed himself to be an improved performer last time out with an eased-down, six-length success (and was value for much more).
The handicapper has taken a swipe and raised the selection 9lb, but he looks a rapidly-improving, young chaser, and could definitely defy this rise.
