3.18 Salisbury: Distant Rumble
Distant Rumble wasn’t in top form during the winter on the all-weather, but has returned after a break in much better form.
He was a good second over this course and distance on his return, and won in good style at Windsor last time out.
Even after that win, he is still a pound lower than the rating he won off last Spring, and he was also placed off a much higher mark, so he clearly has possibilities of following up here after being raised 3lb.
Roger Teal has secured the services of Oisin Murphy which, given the form he was in at Epsom last week, is definitely a positive.

7.42 Carlisle: Trilby
Everything seems to be set up for Trilby, who is in good form this season, to run a solid race here.
Sam England’s gelding performs best when coming through the field off a fast pace, and such a scenario looks pretty much certain here.
Soft ground is also a plus for Trilby who has already won five times on soft ground for the England yard, including his most recent win at Haydock in a similar grade to this.
Trilby hasn’t won at Carlisle, but has won at Beverley off a higher mark than the one he races off here, so I can’t imagine the track is a negative.
8.12 Carlisle: Golspie
Lauren Young doesn’t have too many outside rides, but has been kept busy, and been in sparkling form, for her boss, Jim Goldie, and her valuable 5lb claim might be just what the consistent Golspie needs to secure an overdue win.
The Patrick Morris-trained gelding isn’t the speediest, but has been in the frame on his past five starts, and this stiff uphill finish should suit well (he has won at Pontefract).
The selection appears the type that can be another Young excels on.
