Top tipster Dave Nevison shares his three best bets for Tuesday's meeting at Huntingdon, with every race live on Racing TV.
12.51 Huntingdon: Tigga Time
There will no doubt be plenty of money around for the James Owen-trained runner on her stable debut, but on all known form, Tigga Time has the same chance, if not a better one, and is unlikely to attract the same support.
Tigga Time is modest but largely consistent and ran well on his first start for Sarah Humphreys last time, and showed clear promise in finishing fifth at Worcester.
He was ridden quietly that day, but moved through stylishly to take up the running entering the straight before weakening like a horse who needed his first run for 15 months.
He has had 20 days to get over that effort and, if he makes normal progress and doesn’t bounce, he should go well here off a 1lb lower mark.
Jamie Gambin has ridden a couple of winners for his boss this autumn and his 10lb claim might well prove very valuable.
2.01 Huntingdon: Rip Wheeler
Rip Wheeler has already won a point-to-point and, even though he looked as though he could win a race over hurdles judged on his final two starts last season, it does look as though the real upside is likely to come over fences.
He ran second in a two and a half mile event over hurdles at this track on his final start last season, beaten just a neck by a gamble who went on to score again next time out.
He ran green once hitting the front on that occasion and the run could be upgraded, so the fact he starts his chasing career off just a 2lb higher mark could mean this six-year-old is on a good mark to start out over fences.
The Moores had a couple of winners at Sandown over the weekend so are in good enough form not to have too much concern that this is Rip Wheeler’s seasonal debut, but a big market drift would always be a concern.
3.11 Huntingdon: Charging Thunder
Charging Thunder is not as good over hurdles as he is on the Flat, despite the fact he won his first two races over jumps (both modest and eventful affairs) when he joined James Owen.
He won on the all-weather in the summer, so that ability is still there and I was happy to back him in a big field conditional’s handicap at Cheltenham on his seasonal reappearance.
He was notably weak in the market and, though I was hopeful for a while, the five-year-old eventually faded quite tamely.
Given the trainer’s record, I am happy to give him another chance to show he can rise to similar levels in this sphere, though it will be interesting if there is a market move now that Gavin Sheehan takes over from a less experienced rider.
