4.05 Market Rasen: Nollyador
Nollyador doesn’t have a penalty here after winning a conditional jockeys' event last week and looks well up to winning again.
Harry Cobden takes over here, which has to be of note, despite his claiming rider doing nothing wrong last time.
Nollyador’s jumping has been a bit rusty after he returned from a long absence, but hopefully he will have his eye in by now, and this track and trip is not going to be an issue.
With normal progress, and off the same mark, he should follow up here.
6.00 Southwell: Emily Post
This mare hasn't won a race yet this season, but has dropped to a very workable mark and, based on her latest run, she might well be poised to hit form.
The selection finished second at Southwell, and was beaten over four lengths, but her run was badly impeded by a faller, and she could have finished much closer with a clear run.
She is a pound lower on Tuesday, and is 5lb lower than her latest winning mark. The Dods yard is going well, too, and have already had a winner in March, so I will be surprised if Emily Post doesn’t go well.
8.00 Southwell: Mr Nugget
After I had tipped Mr Nugget when he was well backed, but only fourth, at Kempton in January, I left him alone when he won in good style last time, so it might be a little foolish to be back with him on Tuesday evening.
Looking at his form, though, it is easy to conclude that he enjoys Southwell better than the other all-weather tracks, and I am pretty confident he can strike again.
His Kempton run is already working out well, with two other next time out winners, and he was pretty much always in control last time out, so I think Mr Nugget definitely looks to have got the hang of racing now, especially at this track.
