2.25 Ludlow: Plenty Of Time
It was only a very modest event that Plenty Of Time won last time out but she hasn’t been raised too much - 4lb for an 11-length win - and the booking of Freddie Gingell really takes the eye here.
Gingell is still only a teenager but looks pretty much equal to most professional riders around, with his 5lbs claim looking a steal.
Plenty Of Time has a decent strike rate and the cheekpieces equipped last time are retained. She has a good chance of going in again.
2.55 Ludlow: Latin Verse
Syd Hosie has got Latin Verse back into his yard and and landed a modest juvenile event at Catterick with him in November.
Hosie has entered the gelding in a handicap against older rivals here, which looks a smart move with juveniles getting 12lb from their elders.
Latin Verse is rated 110 but has earned that rating with some decent efforts and shouldn’t lack experience. The cheekpieces he wore at Catterick are reapplied and everything looks in place for another big run.
4.40 Ludlow: Famoso
Famoso has had several West Country trainers but seems to have settled in well for Matt Sheppard - finding consistency and improvement over fences. He has won three chases for the yard, including a comfortable if narrow win over this course and distance.
He started off on a very lowly handicap mark but showed he could run well off Wednesday’s mark with a good effort last time when he was a close third in a competitive 0-110 also over this course and distance.
A mistake and a bump two out probably stopped Famoso getting involved right up to the line there. If he can avoid similar trouble, then he can resume winning ways in this slightly lower grade.
