Bridget’s View has not yet hit the mark this season, but her two wins last season came at the back end and the Stuart Williams-trained filly does look to be running herself into form for another good autumn.
After a close up fifth at Kempton, Bridget’s view once again did well last time out on easy ground at Epsom finishing fourth. The four-year-old filly is now below the mark she last won off and she is stepped back up to a mile after three runs over shorter, where she has been doing her best work at the line.
A low draw and forecast decent pace should suit her very well and, even if today is not the day, Bridget’s View is worth keeping on your radar for the all-weather.
3.30 Newmarket: Ice Cube
Richard Spencer’s gelding is the obvious choice here and hopefully I can quickly recover last week’s losses. The four-year-old gelding has been running really well recently apart from one disappointing run at Ayr coming 24 hours after he had just won at the track, so he can easily be forgiven that performance.
After a short break, he returned to form last week where he was narrowly beaten when a well backed favourite at Nottingham.
All these good runs came on softer ground, so with similar conditions today and Saffie Osborne still on board, Ice Cube’s chance is very obvious.
4.05 Newmarket: Mo Of Cairo
The booking of Toby Moore, who claims 7lb, on a horse most judges regard as well handicapped makes Mo Of Cairo something to bet on despite the three-year-old not having scored yet this season and being a beaten favourite the last twice.
Things definitely didn’t go his way at Redcar last time and, after being blocked in his run, he had to be switched to try and mount a challenge.
He only managed fourth, but showed he definitely wasn’t inconvenienced by a soft surface and, with better luck in running, might show himself to be very well treated - especially from a favourable draw.
