3.50 Nottingham: Nightsinwhitesatin
Nightsinwhitesatin has the look of a typical Ed Bethell-trained runner, having been quite lightly raced and now looking ready to strike.
She was still green when running second in a small field maiden over this course and distance, and last time out she ran well on her handicap debut where she reversed the form with the filly who beat her here.
Her dam reached a Timeform rating of 95 and a generous 1lb drop in the weights from her opening mark may an help Nightsinwhitesatin get her head in front.
4.55 Nottingham: Stockpyle
Stockpyle is dropped considerably in grade by Sam England after a few runs in competitive handicaps and should find this easier.
England is a trainer I watch closely and it also seems no accident that she has booked hot 7lb claimers Jack Callan to ride this top weight.
Stockpyle does need to improve on his past two starts, but has run well off higher marks, and in better races this season, at both York and Doncaster, and is interesting in this modest affair.
8.20 Sandown: Arkendale
The booking of Oisin Murphy for this bottom weighted runner from a small yard takes the eye and Arkendale looks worth risking.
Ed Bethell had the gelding for a season and couldn’t manage to win with him but as a result he has dropped considerably from a mark in the mid 80s.
He then switched stables and was sent hurdling, which did not go to plan, but his two runs back on the Flat for his new trainer Billy Aprahamian was not been without promise.
He came on for his stable debut in a race that was run at a dawdling pace last time and, if this is run at a better clip, a bigger run could be on the cards. He ran at a variety of trips for Bethell but his one victory came at this trip.
