Dave Nevison's Saturday tips: Stans looks a big price in EBF Final

Thankfully, racing goes ahead at Sandown today where I have one selection due to Soaring Glory being a non-runner. I also have two fancies at Ayr. You can watch both meetings live on Racing TV, and please remember to gamble responsibly.
This six-year-old has not had too much racing but has improved in rapid fashion in his three runs over hurdles and won nicely over a similar trip to this at Fontwell last time.
The winning distance was only a neck but he blundered at the last, losing valuable momentum, so had to battle to regain the ground. He showed a good attitude which will definitely stand him in good stead in this much more hotly-contested event.
Stans the Man will be suited by the stiffer track and extra distance here and being trained by Ella Pickard, whose small team are running well, will attract much less attention than some of the big names from the Nicholls and Skelton yards in a race that all bookies are offering extra places for each-way bets.
It does look like he has been kept back for this, having had a six-week break since his win. Hopefully he will be slogging it out up the Sandown hill when others have cried enough.
She has run well on each of her starts this season, but has looked very much as though she is now in need of going over further when runner-up on her latest two starts. She gets the opportunity to step up two furlongs here and looks to be in a race set to be run at a decent gallop after being in a couple of slowly-run affairs.
The handicapper dropped Headscarf Lil back down 2lb for her latest creditable effort which looks generous and puts her just a couple of pounds higher than for her latest win. Brian Hughes is on board which means she will likely not be missed in the market, but she has a real obvious chance and is still worth a bet.
Now a non-runner.
Only 7lb higher than when winning at Kelso in December and has run two really good races since, so looks still to be very well handicapped. He came up against a good one in Carcaci Castle on his penultimate start, running him to two and a half lengths, and he then won quite easily last time out. Patrick Wadge, who regulars know I like, has struck up a good relationship with him and still claims 7lb off him here which is handy - while trainer Lucinda Russell is having a really good season. The pair had a winner together at the same track on Friday.
