Dave Nevison's horse racing tips for Ludlow and Taunton

1.00 Ludlow: Poker Master

This is quite competitive but none looks as potentially well-in as Poker Master.

He was 4lbs out of the handicap when he scored easily at Huntingdon last week and is only carrying 3lbs more now, even with a theoretical 7lb penalty here.

Poker Master ran well on his handicap debut off a mark of 95 last season but then lost his form and dropped in the weights before bouncing back and in style last time to beat previous winner Manucci in pretty much effortless style.

Tom Buckley keeps the ride and claims the same 5lbs once again.

2.08 Taunton: Duneomeno

It is a mark of Christian Williams’ skill with the handicapping system that he can get a last-time out winner in a race off a mark of just 73 and only be a 1lb out of the weights.

There is no way Duneomeno is a 73-rated horse judged by the way he stayed on to win last time on his first run over fences.

He is back over hurdles here and has so far shown nothing over timber, going off at 200/1 on the latest of his three efforts. However, his hand has been revealed and I expect him to make a mockery of this mark under Jack Tudor.

2.30 Ludlow: Sacre Coeur

She came up against a very much in-form mare in Electric Annie last time in what was a decent race, so a 1lb-higher mark looks reasonable.

Sacre Coeur was a useful hurdler and chaser in France and ran well off a higher mark over hurdles here for Charlie Mann last year.

Her latest effort might just be showing that she is finding her form for Jonjo O’Neill and if so she should go well here. Jamie Brace is getting regular rides for the yard this season and the 7lb claimer went close on Sacre Coeur last-time out.
