Dave Nevison's Friday Racing Tips: Pearson can pounce on 11-1 chance

The racingtv.com tipster has a couple of selections for the All-weather action at Southwell on Friday, including one in the colours of the Horsewatchers.

4.15 Southwell: Blue Hero(at a general 5-4)

Finished: 4thSP: 11/8

He's going to be a pretty short price here, but deservedly so and he looks another solid purchase for the Dixon brothers aka The Horsewatchers. Placed on this surface on his final run for Michael Bell, his proven ability to handle the surface is a definite plus that he has joined the Appleby team.

He was a little fresh and keen on his debut for the yard on New Year's Day but ran very well to be second to a rapidly-improving type. That was in a 0-85 handicap and he is well down in grade here. It is just difficult to see him beaten with the cheekpieces on for the first time.

4.45 Southwell: Daafy (at 11-1 with BetVictor and Betfair Sportsbook)

I am firmly aboard the Laura Pearson train, though it is getting difficult to get a seat nowadays as she is firmly in punters minds' having had such an excellent time recently.

She rode this horse for the first time on his seasonal and surface debut and it was a much-improved effort to be runner-up in a similar event. He was possibly on the wrong side of the track there, as well, so could be marked up a little and from stall 11 it is most likely he will coming up the middle here.

That was his first run for Derek Shaw, who traditionally has a good time of things at this time of year, and off the same mark as last time Daafy could go close at a decent each-way price.
