Our tipster Dave Nevison previews Thursday's jumping action on Racing TV and has three selections from Market Rasen and Wincanton.
Has been running consistently well off similar marks this season and probably put up his best-ever effort last time at Hereford when two lengths second to what may well have been a handicap blot in Maxcel.
He is off the same mark here and well-in at the weights compared to future events and this doesn’t look as strong a race so he definitely has an opportunity to score for the second time this autumn.
Cornicello seems most effective over a sharp two miles so Wincanton is certain to suit him well and Jamie Snowden took the big handicap at Cheltenham at the weekend and so clearly has his team still in great form.
Ben Pauling has done me a couple of favours already this season and there isn’t an English trainer in better form at present so I am happy to row in with this chase debutant here despite top-weight.
Bowtogreatness was a useful novice over hurdles last term, winning at Ffos Las then defying a penalty at Leicester before finding Grade One company too hot at Aintree on his final start. However he is bred to be better over a fence, his dam being by Supreme Leader and closely related to the smart chaser Thisthatandtother. This is a really interesting novices' handicap and I will be looking for several future winners to come out of it but Bowtogreatness could be pretty smart and I'm happy to take a chance that he will be fit enough.
This six-year-old may well be going chasing in the New Year but after only eight runs over hurdles is still relatively lightly raced and may well have more upside than his largely exposed rivals for this Pertemps qualifier.
He was quite useful as a novice last season and though highly tried on occasions proved mostly progressive. He was backed for his reappearance at Aintree and he ran well but showed pretty conclusively that he needs three miles this season.
