See who betting expert Dave Nevison likes for the final day of the Cheltenham Festival. 2.00 Cheltenham: Sixandahalf
Gavin Cromwell’s horses have been running well this week and it is clear to me that the yard, which has struggled this season, looks poised to have a good spring.
His Sixandahalf is ideally suited by a race such as this and was only beaten half a length when second in the 23-runners mares’ novice last season, having travelled supremely well.
She has run well in her recent starts in smaller fields and finished a good fourth to Wodhooh in a Graded event last time out.
Her young jockey has already had the Festival winner this week takes off 3lb, too. She will be ideally suited by tgh strong gallop and I fancy her to go very close. The only caveat would be if the ground turned heavy.
4.00 Cheltenham: Jango Baie
Jango Baie may well come out best of the three who fought out the finish of a memorable of King George.
The Nicky Henderson-trained runner showed last year that he certainly comes up the Cheltenham hill, when seemingly beaten in the Arkle but then flying at the finish and getting up to win.
To my mind he is much more likely than Gaelic Warrior or The Jukebox Man to be suited by this trip at this track. and he could well improve significantly.
Jango Baie is still only a seven-year-old and his best days are ahead of him.
5.20 Cheltenham: Roc Dino
Roc Dino could well be thrown in here and can round off the Festival in style for Willie Mullins.
He came over here from France after three runs but had been off a year before appearing for Mullins recently. He improved for his yard debut and looked a horse of real potential last time.
Roc Dino certainly wasn’t knocked about behind El Cairos, who ran a very good fifth in the Supreme earlier in the week, and even off an opening handicap mark of 131 could be well in. After just two runs for the best jumps yard in the business, the sky is the limit given. Mullins took this with Galopin Des Champs not long ago.
