Top tipster Dave Nevison has some big-priced fancies for Thursday's action at the Cheltenham Festival, all live on Racing TV!
2.00 Cheltenham: Ben Solo
Trainer Rebecca Curtis, despite having a smaller team than some, has long had a habit of landing a big-priced Cheltenham Festival winner, and while everyone knows she has a fancied Boodles Cheltenham Gold Cup contender this year, I believe she might have a live handicap contender in
Ben Solo.
This novice is a pound out of the handicap here, but I believe he could still be well handicapped based on his latest outing at Chepstow.
He unseated three out there, but was going well and led narrowly at that point, and traded at 1-3 in running.
Had he won, which looked very likely, he would have been raised five or six pounds for that performance, and would no doubt be regarded as a contender.
Ben Solo is closely related on his dam’s side to the top-class Altior, and won on his only point-to-point start, so clearly has upside potential.
He also had three next-time-out winners behind him on his penultimate start when second at Chepstow, and he would have beaten another three next-time-out winners had he completed last time, too.
His form looks strong enough for him to go well here, and I'm siding with him at 33-1.

4.40 Cheltenham: Idem
It is pretty obvious that Supremely West is going to bring his A-game here. However, having suffered on him a couple of times since his promising return this season, I cannot get involved at 4-1, and at around 50-1, I am much happier to have a bet on Idem to sneak into a place in this massive field.
The Lucinda Russell and Michael Scudamore partnership is in stunning form, with five winners from their past ten runners, and they have already had a big-priced runner-up at this year's Cheltenham Festival.
Idem is an exposed eight-year-old who has been running consistently overall, despite hardly ever getting races run to suit him.
He needs a fast pace to bring out his abundant stamina, and will certainly get that here. He ran really well at Musselburgh last time out, despite the sharp track, and slow pace, not suiting him at all.
5.20 Cheltenham: Jeriko Du Reponet
Jeriko Du Reponet returned to form at last year's Cheltenham Festival when second in the Pertemps, and then went on to reverse the form with the winner when scoring at Punchestown.
Those good runs coincided with the application of cheekpieces and, rather significantly, the headgear is applied for the first time this season here.
He hasn't been given the hardest time this season, most notably at Windsor on his latest start, and this is sure to have been his long-term aim.
Although he has top weight in this historic race, he could well prove to still be favourably treated, and the booking of Derek O’Connor is a positive.
