3.40 Perth: Aeros Luck
Pulled out at Ayr at the weekend due to the change in going, that may well prove to be a blessing in disguise for
Aeros Luck as this looks a more winnable opportunity. He is only 1/14 over fences, with that win coming on decent ground in June when trained by Gavin Cromwell off his current mark of 125, but he’s been shaping well for Sandy Thomson who has been in superb form this spring. He’s the main pace angle in the race, and we’ve seen front running tactics frequently rewarded in this race. Assuming William Maggs can get to the front, he could be hard to pass.

4.00 Ludlow: Lady Dapple Rose
I saw
Lady Dapple Rose make a very encouraging hurdling debut at Leicester and, while she hasn’t gone on from that, she has been set some tricky assignments in competitive novice events. She returned from 76 days off when last seen at Chepstow, and while eventually beaten 20 lengths, she shaped better than the bare result, only fading late having challenged the smart Just A Glance turning in. Now into a mares-only handicap, she will find this significantly easier and the promise she showed in bumpers suggests she should be competitive from a lowly mark of 95.
6.00 Taunton: Myrighthandman
Since disappointing on his rules/hurdling debut back in November and having wind surgery,
Myrighthandman has run with credit on his last three starts and now makes his handicap debut from a mark of 107. Stepping up in trip looks sure to suit this point-to-point winner, who is also a half-brother to Westerner Lady and Only The Bold, both of whom won over much further. Tom Lacey is in good form and he has a very strong record with handicap debutants over hurdles: a 21% strike-rate which would have yielded a 47% ROI to SP backing them all to level stakes.
