Bookmakers running scared of Enable in Arc

Bookmakers are leaving little to chance with Enable in the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe after her impressive victory in the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes.
Khalid Abdullah's brilliant filly is as short as 7-4 with some layers for the French feature at Chantilly in October after she annihilated top-class opposition in Ascot's midsummer showpiece on Saturday.
Ladbrokes cut John Gosden's charge from 9-2 to 7-4 after she added the all-aged middle-distance prize to her triumphs in the English and Irish Oaks.
"We have always been a big fan of Enable and in what seems to be a thin year in terms of quality, she is the one to beat," said Ladbrokes' Nicola McGeady.
"If the race was next month she would be even shorter than 7-4, but if all goes well between now and October 1, she will be very hard to rival."
Paddy Power have Enable at 2-1 and believe she ticks all the boxes needed for the Arc.
"To win both Oaks by five lengths or more and then go on to win a King George against the older horses by four and a half lengths means this is one of the best fillies we have seen in many a year," said Paddy Power spokesman Paul Binfield.
"She has the ability to handle any sort of ground, particularly a bit of cut as she showed at Ascot so brilliantly, and if she lines up at Chantilly, she looks the one the others have to beat."
