Group One-winner Tornado Alert is on the road to recovery, with Saeed bin Suroor eyeing the same Group One feature he won in Germany last year.
Fourth in the Guineas and then sixth when failing to see out a mile and a half in the Derby, he was then second at Royal Ascot in the Hampton Court Stakes.
The son of Too Darn Hot went on to claim the Grosser Dallmayr-Preis – Bayerisches Zuchtrennen in July but has not been seen since, having met with a setback when being prepared for a trip to Bahrain.
“He’s doing well, he’s getting better every day and he’s exercising nicely,” said Bin Suroor.
“The target for him is to take him to Germany again for the race he won last year, then we’ll find some more races for him in Europe before the end of the season.
“We’ll see how fit he is to see if he is ready in time for a run before Germany, but he’s in good form and going the right way. I’m happy with him.
“When we took him to Germany we weren’t sure if he would handle the soft ground, there was a question mark, but we thought we’d give him a chance and he handled it well. He liked the fast ground at Ascot, so I think he’ll handle any ground.
“He’s a strong horse, he tries hard and hopefully he comes back as good as ever.”
