Ben Pauling: the latest update on my stable stars

Ben Pauling enjoyed a Festive period to remember thanks to The Jukebox Man's thrilling victory in the Ladbrokes King George VI Chase at Kempton, with Mambonumberfive also claiming Graded glory in the Ladbrokes Wayward Lad Novices' Chase 24 hours later. 

"It was alright, wasn't it?", Pauling said when asked about his success over Christmas, which rather downplayed his achievements having recorded 17 winners from 77 runners in December, and operated at a 22 per cent strike-rate.

Speaking en route back from Lambourn after an 'away day' for a few of his team on Tuesday, Pauling shared the inside track on his stable stars with Angus McNae and Steve Ryder during our Racing Chat show.

The in-form handler provided a positive update on The Jukebox Man and Mambonumberfive, as well as a number of his other stable stars, and you can enjoy the full interview below.

Improving mare Diva Luna was also discussed by Pauling who has high hopes for his unbeaten chaser. The six-year-old finished third in last year's Ryanair Mares' Novices' Hurdle, and impressed in a Listed contest over fences at Warwick when last seen.

And Pauling revealed that Grade One winner Handstands has been given a wind op since his outing in the Betfair Chase, and was one of the horses who worked in Lambourn on Tuesday morning.
