Racing UK presenter Angus McNae tipped two winners in last week's Thursday column and has five selections for Thursday's action. Look out for his annual five horses to lay at Royal Ascot column on Friday.
A packed punting piece for you this week on the back of two winners last Thursday. I have five selections spread across four meetings and I have five horses to back and lay next week at Royal Ascot coming up here on Friday.
This William Haggas-trained son of French Classic winner Shamardal will win if he simply repeats his debut form.
With improvement likely he is one to be very interested in even at a likely short price.
His second at Doncaster on debut yielded a good Timeform speed figure on the back of traveling well, while being looked after late on. He should win, and he could be a good cornerstone for your accumulator.
This filly absolutely bolted up at Yarmouth last time and looks easily capable of defying a 6lb penalty.
She is slightly up in grade but is still very well treated and she should be capable of handling the two furlong step up in trip.
Trainer Chris Wall does well at this track and he has a very well treated filly on his hands.
Rather like Marilyn this horse looks very well treated on the back of a recent success.
He was wearing a first-time visor and that seemed to bring about a much improved performance.
He made a mockery of his mark, always travelling well and now although upped in grade he can easily defy the 6lb penalty that he carries.
I don’t normally bet in amateur rider handicaps but if this horse can repeat his recent effort on the All-Weather at Kempton I think he has a stone in hand.
Off a six month lay-off he improved on any previous form to get up late on winning off a mark of 62. His Turf mark allows him to race off 61 and James Harding is a good booking for in-form trainer Jonathan Portman.
This horse was second to the aforementioned Muscika last time out.
He showed lots of speed by forcing a strong gallop but was then headed late on by the rejuvenated winner.
Dropping a furlong in trip should suit him and he can make all and gain his third career success in the process.
