Top presenter Angus is sweet on one at Carlisle plus a trio in action at Galway. Watch how they all fare on Racing TV
1.15 Galway: Thedevilscoachman
This horse looks just the type to make up into a useful chaser. If he can translate his hurdles form to the larger obstacles then this race should be his for the taking. When last in action in February, he won the Grade Two Boyne Hurdle. He has had a couple of races over fences where he acquitted himself well in hot races behind the very smart Ferny Hollow and Saint Sam. He faces nothing of that calibre here.
3.05 Carlisle: Good Risk At All
I like this horse now that he gets to race back in a handicap. When last seen he was a respectable sixth in the Grade One Mersey Novices Hurdle, but his nine-length handicap win at Ascot on his previous start showed him in a better light. He’s 10lb higher here but looks capable of winning this contest with a tongue-tie equipped for the first time.
3.30 Galway: Sam's Choice
Sam's Choice, usually ridden prominently, can benefit from the application of blinkers here and make all under Davy Russell. He ran well last time out when finishing a close second at Downpatrick and the headgear could sharpen him up. He has been beaten twice when trading odds-on in running but has looked better when running beyond two miles, as he does on Sunday.
4.35 Galway: Coastguard Lady
This is Willie Mullins’ only runner on the day and she looks set to step up on a promising debut effort here at Galway in early September, where he stayed on strongly in that race to grab fourth place. She races at 2m again but should be sharper for that run. It looks as if there will be plenty of pace on here and that should suit this mare, who looks a stayer in the making.
